Protecting Roatan's natural resources is central to the mission of the Roatan Institute for Marine Sciences (RIMS). Through coral reef restoration, marine science education, and practical sustainability efforts, we work to support the health of the island's marine environment.

Through our coral nursery and restoration program, coral fragments are cared for as they grow and, when ready, outplanted onto suitable reef areas. Visiting students take part in hands-on learning and restoration activities.
